第一章 第七天堂

 齐卡·罗巴斯是巴黎街道上的一名下水道工人,他希望有一天能够成为街道清洁工。虽然他很有自信,但他缺乏宗教信仰,觉得上帝总是让他感到失望。离他上班不远的地方,住着一个长得不好看的名叫迪安妮的女孩,她经常被她凶恶的姐姐娜娜无缘无故地打骂。每当娜娜觉得被生活欺骗了的时候,她就会拿起鞭子抽打迪安妮。有一次,迪安妮摔倒在水沟里,被娜娜扼住咽喉。齐卡冲出下水道,帮助迪安妮赶走了娜娜。后来,不幸的迪安妮决定用齐卡的刀子夺回自己的生活,但被齐卡阻止了。当警察谴责迪安妮的时候,齐卡再一次冲出来告诉警察,这个女孩即将成为他的妻子。警察不太相信他所说的,因为齐卡非常同情这个女孩,邀请她到他的公寓度过一夜。他的公寓在一座高楼的第七层,迪安妮称之为“第七天堂”。与此同时,其卡得到了想要的工作,想做更大更好的事情,而迪安妮也因为齐卡的自信心而获得了对生活的信心,不再恐惧生活。当她再一次遇到她的恶魔姐姐时,她姐姐想要带走她,她夺下了娜娜的鞭子并且赶走了她。随后,战争爆发,齐卡和迪安妮分开了很长一段时间,只能通过内心的思念保持联系。一天晚上,齐卡被炸弹炸伤了,立即送了一个消息给迪安妮,那时她已经成为一名军需品制造工。幕后制作这是一个基于奥斯汀·斯特朗戏剧的感伤爱情故事,在1927年发行之后,引起极大轰动,使得主演之一让娜·盖诺尔迅速成为了红星,获得了奥斯卡最佳女演员奖,成为获得这种奖项的第一人。这部电影的成功甚至使得二十世纪福克斯公司在1937年将其配上了对白,修改成有声电影版本。在部电影中,人物的情感生活是通过光影的绝妙使用表现出来的。对于空间的表现主义但经过充分美国化的使用,打破了各种经验塑造的传统视点,提供了一种崭新的观看方式,给人一种诗一般的想象。即便是后来版本的电影配音,也表明了导演波扎格的天赋才华。波扎格的这部电影既是一部美妙的情节剧,也可以被看作是一部十分优秀的另类的战争电影。

第二章 非传统浪漫关系

情感博主祝君好(朱颜曼滋 饰)与在民政局工作的龚玺(任彬 饰),两个本该最懂“爱”的人,却在520这天领了离婚证。面对毁不掉的婚纱照和分不清的牵绊,两人一拍即合,决定开启一段“非传统”的高效关系——互给对方介绍对象!然而相亲局逐渐失控,龚玺重逢了自己曾经的相亲对象纪小舒(赵小棠 饰),祝君好则遇上了前任向涵(王天放 饰),还有“八离世家”的霸总和“懂王”附体的弟弟。这对“离婚搭子”在互坑与互助之间,开始重新审视自己的亲密关系,也意外踏上了一段关于“爱”的二次探索。

第三章 美丽新世界

  本片改编自“ 阿道司·赫胥黎 ”同名小说。一个在原始社会长大,通过阅读莎士比亚自学的野蛮人,突然有一天加入了他父母所在的未来社会。然而,他不能适应他们的生活方式……

第四章 等待方舟

  Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.  Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?  n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.  What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.  On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.  One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.  Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
