Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　这是一部寓言般，反浪漫的公路电影，男青年瓦尔特是个裁缝，每天帮着母亲缝制衣服，可是他向往外面的世界，于是他乘着母亲不备将母亲锁进屋子并偷了母亲的钱物找了一个哥们驾车兜风，在路上遇见了来旅游的泰欣娜和其女友，他们四人结伴而行，沉默寡言的两个男人和随心所欲的两个女人产生许多 戏剧冲突，他们一起住店，一起听摇滚音乐会，折腾许久以后，瓦尔特决定回家，回家后他若无其事地坐回缝纫机边继续他的裁缝生涯，仿佛一切未曾发生过。
